    Founding partner and driving all the innovation and business phases of the company. PhD in Robotics

    Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

    Scientific Researcher of the Spanish National Research Council at the Centre for Automatics and Robotics.

    More than 20 years of experience in research on walking robots.

    Recognised among the top 10 scientists in Spain, she receives the CSIC Scientific Merit award every year since 2013.

    Elena has registered 7 patents, 3 of them extended internationally, and has received more than 35 awards for her excellent work in science and technology transfer.

    She is a member of important international committees, including the IEEE Industrial Activities Board.

  • Leopoldo Gil
    Leopoldo Gil Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Responsible for coordinating and directing the financial management and supervising the administration and finances of the company.

    Degree in Business Administration from the University of Navarra.

    Twenty years of experience in auditing and financial and tax advice in various companies in the pharmaceutical industry and in auditing firms with clients in the technology, engineering and real estate sectors, among others. And extensive knowledge in organisational transformation processes, processes and systems.

    Alejandro has a reputed experience of 19 years in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industry, where he has held different Marketing & Commercial positions in different therapeutic areas. He has worked for multinationals such as Bristol Myers, Squibb, Stryker, Takeda, or Johnson & Johnson.

    MBA, Master in Commercial and Marketing Management in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He has also completed a Higher Programme in Digital Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Big Data and Business Intelligence.

  • Alberto Plaza
    Alberto Plaza Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

    Responsible for the research, design and pre-development processes of new devices at Marsi Bionics.

    Industrial engineer specialising in electronics, automation and robotics from the Alfonso X El Sabio University, Master in instrumentation and control from the International Society of Automation (ISA) and PhD in automation and robotics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

    Extensive experience in the development of engineering projects, carrying out tasks of planning, management and elaboration of electromechanical and control design proposals.

    Experience in important companies in the industrial sector, joining Marsi Bionics in January 2016, where he has completed the Industrial Doctorate of the CAM (IND2017/TIC-7698).

  • Iñaki Aguirre
    Iñaki Aguirre Operational Business Development Director

    Responsible for the development and industrialisation of Marsi Bionics products. Iñaki defines the company’s technological strategy and supervises the different design phases.

    He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the School of Engineering of Bilbao and has more than 10 years of experience in the development and industrialisation of mechatronic products in the automotive sector, managing multidisciplinary teams and playing a key role in strategic planning, technological innovation, work procedures and methodologies and the generation of standards.

    Víctor Chacón Institutional Relations and Communication Director

    Responsible for the institutional relations and communication of Marsi Bionics.

    Graduate in Political Science and Administration (UCM) and expert in institutional communication (INAP).

    More than 12 years of experience in different Public Administrations at national (Vice-presidency of the Government), regional and local level.

    He has directed the area of Public Affairs at PUBLIC, a specialised consultancy firm of Accenture.

    Chemical Engineer by the University of Valladolid, Master in Quality, Environment and Occupational Risk Prevention by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valladolid, and multiple courses in quality systems and certification of medical devices.

    More than 10 years of experience in quality management in companies and as a consultant, working in health services and medical device clients.

She is a strong advocate of the energy transition and the role that energy plays in the evolution of society.

    She is a member of the Hydrocarbons Advisory Board of the National Markets and Competition Commission, the Standing Committee of the Spanish Gas Association and the Board of Directors of the Spanish Energy Club.     One of his main interests is to analyse the influence of robotics on tissue alterations in patients after a central injury, especially peripheral nerves, in order to optimise its use in the face of movement and functional dysfunctions that we find in the clinical set.

    He is currently directly responsible for the Multiple Sclerosis CSUR of the University Hospital Complex of Santiago de Compostela, President of the Galician Society of Neurology, President of the Compostela Neurological Foundation,

    Member of the Academia Médico-Quirúrgica Compostelana and member of different committees and editorial boards of journals in the speciality.     President and Founder of the Lescer Foundation

    In 1997 she created Lescer, a pioneering neurological centre specialising in the treatment of brain injuries with more than 40 highly qualified professionals and an average of more than 200 patients per year. Cristina directs this reference centre in Madrid that offers care based on a comprehensive approach to the needs of users affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) throughout the rehabilitation process through a transdisciplinary team that includes Neurology, Psychiatry and Medical services.

    Rehabilitator, as well as therapists in Physiotherapy, Neuropsychology, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy, and the help of a Social Worker.

    In their treatments they integrate new technologies and robotics and collaborate with different entities in research projects.
